Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai! 00 – Prologue

What am I getting myself into?

 I Don’t Have Many Friends

Episode 0

When I asked Jeremiah if I could return to Two Over One, I honestly had no idea what was in store for anime in the fall 2011 season. He provided me a list, I reviewed my choices, and settled on three anime.

  1. Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon
  2. Fate/zero
  3. Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai

I think Mr. Hopper said it better himself when “one of these things just doesn’t belong here.” Now, I give credit where credit is due, BokuTomo (as I’m lazily calling it) definitely manned up in their preview episode by exploiting the cliches of standard slice-of-life, attire anime and implementing it in a not-sure-if-serious, but nonetheless hilarious she-bang.

Fall 2011 Line Up!

Right, it’s time to do this line-up post for the fall season for 2011. As I look at the list of anime being aired, it’s got a number of sequels and remakes, along with quite a large number of original shows. Also, I’ve got InstraClassic back on the site. 2 seasons ago, he provided his first impressions on IS: Infinite Stratos.

As usual, I’ll start with whatever shows that are being covered on the site, then the shows I am personally watching, and then the shows I am checking out. Read the rest of this entry

Sacred Seven 12 – Sacred Seven [END]

This was probably the most satisfying moment in the entire show.

「セイクリッドセブン」 (Seikuriddo Sebun)
“Sacred Seven”

Sacred Seven. It’s finally over. What a ride it’s been. We’ve had our up and downs….mainly downs. But man, were you a big waste of time. I mean, you weren’t horrible or whatever, but the least you could do….the LEAST YOU COULD DO IS END THE SHOW REALLY WELL. Read the rest of this entry

Kamisama Dolls 11 – Hibino Kidnapped!

This pretty much was my face at the end of this episode.

「囚われの日々乃」 (Toraware no Hibino)
“Kidnapped Hibino”

WOOOOOOOWWWWW. Halfway through this episode I had to check the episode number to see if it was below 10. It wasn’t. It was in fact, Episode 11. I then began to ask myself what the hell this show is doing. This is gonna be another micropost as I’ve got to go university. You see, I like this show, but lately I’ve not been getting any satisfaction out of the past few episodes. Remember when the evil village elder and Amaterasu were introduced a couple of episodes back? Why have they not come into play now? The show now as 2 episodes left, and Brain’s Base wants to spend the next one with a rescue-the-big-titted-girl episode. I mean, really!? As I said in my last tweet, this show is heading down the same path as Deadman Wonderland. It starts great, loads of people take an interest in it, and then towards the latter half and last few episodes, it kinda doesn’t really know what it’s doing with itself.

Mayo Chiki! 11 – Nyu!

Um. Yeah...

「にゅ!」 (Nyu!)

Hmm. Yeah, this episode was all over the place. I’m not even gonna do a full writing for this episode . I’m saving that for the last episode. (I actually haven’t got the time, either.) However, I did get what I wanted: for the story to shift back to Jirou and Subaru but even then, I was still disappointed? Am I a hard person to please? No. I’ve pretty much don’t have much patience with this show, as I feel like I won’t be getting anything out of it at the end.

The only actual thing of note that happened in this episode is that Konoe was relieved of her butler status, not because people found out she was a girl, but because she failed to protect Kanade when she fell down the stairs. I MEAN, REALLY. OH PLEASE.

Mayo Chiki! 10 – Let’s Dig In!

I'm ready for this.

「いっただっきまーす」 (Ittadakkimaasu)
“Let’s Dig In!”

Before I watched this episode, my girlfriend told me that this episode was a girly one. I had no idea what she meant by that, so I proceeded to watch the episode with curiosity. At the end of the episode, I felt…weird. This episode was hanging in the balance between entertaining and plain disappointing. Read the rest of this entry

Towa no Quon 01 – Fleeting Petals

Meet Quon.

「泡沫の花弁」 (Utakata no Kaben)
“Fleeting Petals”

I don’t usually watch anime movie series.  I did watch Kara no Kyoukai, but I didn’t even finish that. That said, I saw this pop up somewhere, and since I had time (for once), I decided to sit down in this uncomfortable office chair we have in the living room and watch the show. The first 6 minutes had me pretty focused and didn’t bore me at all. Towa no Quon is an original animated film series that will have 6 parts. 3 parts have been released so far, and a subbed release of the first part was just put out a few days ago. It was also made as Iida Umanosuke’s last anime as he sadly passed away last November. It’s unfortunate he didn’t get to see this on the big screens. Read the rest of this entry

Kami-sama Dolls 10 – The Beautiful Maiden Is Here!

The much needed explanation of the past. And this is all we need.

「美姫、繚乱」 (Biki, Ryouran)
“The Beautiful Maiden Is Here!”

Despite this episode being a fairly good episode, being the 10th episode of the series, I find it difficult to figure out where this series heading other than Amaterasu possibly being the final boss. That said, we got a formal introduction to Mahiru Hyuuga who is all sorts of crazy. Read the rest of this entry

Sacred Seven 10 – The Memories of Aoi

The much needed flashback episode on the Aiba family.

「アオイの記憶」 (Aoi no Kioku)
“Memories of Aoi”

I’m surprised with myself. I actually liked this episode, and it feels like the show is just about ready to end itself with a somewhat satisfactory ending. Or maybe it could blow us all away with a really good one! Thought, with the way this series has been going, I doubt it. And oh my, my hands are freezing I can’t type properly. Mayo Chiki! 09 – A Quick Trip

Yep, this was a maid episode.

「しばらく旅に出ます」 (Shibaraku Tabini Demasu)
“A Quick Trip”

Regrettably, Mayo Chiki! is starting to lose its heat for me. The fact that I literally skimmed through the last episode is a testament to that. However, for some reason, I kept at this episode. And I don’t even think it was because of the abundance of maids this week. Read the rest of this entry
