Guilty Crown 03 – Void Sampling

He doesn't look very nice.

I gotta stop writing these so late. I’ll make the same excuse again, it’s university and the social life that’s causing me to not have any time for anime. That said, this episode was slightly slower, and took it down a little bit from the past two episodes. Still it was rather fun, as we were introduced to the rest of the cast briefly. Guilty Crown 01 – Genesis

I don't know about you, but I enjoyed this opening episode.

I haven’t had a screenshot with subtitles in it for ages, I guess this is probably my first post since I got my new MacBook Pro.

It’s been some time since my last post here, and I’m actually just trying to catch up with over a week’s worth of new anime. I’ve been to a lot of social events with my new university and having late nights. On top of that I have a flexible part-time job at London’s O2 Arena, so I actually don’t have as much time for anime than I used to. That being said, I’m taking this time I have now to write about my first impressions of Guilty Crown, the only show I’ll probably be blogging (unless Mirai Nikki gets more better than it is now). Fall 2011 Line Up!

Right, it’s time to do this line-up post for the fall season for 2011. As I look at the list of anime being aired, it’s got a number of sequels and remakes, along with quite a large number of original shows. Also, I’ve got InstraClassic back on the site. 2 seasons ago, he provided his first impressions on IS: Infinite Stratos.

As usual, I’ll start with whatever shows that are being covered on the site, then the shows I am personally watching, and then the shows I am checking out. Read the rest of this entry

Sacred Seven 01 – Awakening of the Stone

OH HAI MEGAMAN ZX.

Oh hey there, Megaman ZX.

I have a bunch of tweets that could sum up my thoughts of this episode, so I’m just gonna combine them all and create this post. What we have here is a original anime by Sunrise. On the surface it looks like a high school mecha shounen. A lot of people have been comparing this to Star Driver which isn’t fair. To me, Star Driver wasn’t even shounen. In any case, let’s get this post underway. Read the rest of this entry

What I’m Watching This Summer 2011

I’m not gonna long this out, because I’m bored, I’m tired and uuugghhhh… I’m going to post the shows that I’ll be watching and the shows that I’ll TRY to blog. Emphasis on the word “TRY”. (As if the word “TRY” wasn’t emphasized enough.) First I’ll start with the shows that I’ll be blogging. I’ve put a lot of thought into this and since I usually blog 4 shows a season, I think I might lighten the load a little and blog just two or three.

Blogging

Sacred Seven

I watched the PVs sometime ago, and the character designs remind me a lot of Code Geass. Anyway, Sunrise has an original show going on here, and I like writing about original shows, as much as I do watching them. The setup is pretty standard. Main protagonist meets mysterious transfer student. From what I’ve read, it’s a semi-mecha-school-action show. Similar to the recent Star Driver, though the plot formula is a lot different. Nobuhiko Okamoto, Iori Nomizu and Katsuyuki Konishi (the latter who I’ve been hearing a lot from since I’m in the middle of watching the Tales of Symphonia OVA) are notable seiyuus starring in this show. I’m looking forward to what it has to offer.

Dantalian no Shoka

I love myself a good mystery show, whether it’s anime or movies or TV shows. I may have stalled GOSICK right now, but I’m going to be catching up with it, along with this show called Dantalian no Shoka which is dark mystery anime that follows Huey and Dalian through a series of investigation on graphic murders and the like. GAINAX is also heading this adaptation from Gakuto’s light novel, which is rather interesting. Daisuke Ono will be voicing the male lead of the show, Huey while Miyuki Sawashiro is voicing the female lead, Dalian.

Kamisama no Memo-chou

Similar to my last choice, this show also involves mysteries. Similar setup: Boy meets shut-in girl who’s really intelligent and they solve crimes together. However, the types of crimes they deal with are more modern…more urban. A lot of underground crime going on. Reminds me of another show, but I can’t remember. But yeah, I’m going to be following this show.

What I’m Watching

  • Blood-C
  • Usagi Drop
  • Kami-sama Dolls
  • Manyuu Hiken-chou (don’t judge me)
  • Mawaru Penguin Drum
  • Mayo Chiki!
  • No.6
  • R-15

Code Geass GAIDEN: Boukoku no Akito [Character Designs]

The February issue of Newtype magazine has revealed character designs from the upcoming 「Code Geass GAIDEN: Boukoku no Akito」 anime project.

「Code Geass GAIDEN: Boukoku no Akito」 was first announced on April 22nd, 2010. Details are still pending on what its exact format will be; as well as a premiere/release date.

A Code Geass side story? This is the first I’ve heard of it. Translated as Code Geas Sidestory: Akito of the Ruined Nation or something. I’ve seen no word on the story yet, but we have got designs and the names of the two main character. The duo is much like Lelouch and C.C. They are Hyuga Akito and Layla. From what I’ve heard, this story is set DURING the first season of Lelouch of the Rebellion. No release date for this, though. Check the source link above for pictures and more.
