Senki Zesshou Symphogear 02 – Noise & Dissonance

Senki Zesshou Symphogear

「雑音と不協和音と」 (Zatsuon to Fukyouwaron to)
“Noise & Dissonance”

Right, so I haven’t made a post on the first episode, but that’s because 1.) I still don’t know if I’m fully back on the whole blogging thing and 2.) I’m still going through premiere episodes at the moment. That said, I’m not going to go through the events of the first episode, though I will say this. I miss Kanade already. That being said, I have to pay mention to the OP of this show, it’s one of my favourites this season. Read the rest of this entry

Dantalian no Shoka 01 – Pop-Up Book [First Impressions]

The Mystical Archives of Dantalian

「仕掛け絵本」 (Shikake Ehon)
“Pop-Up Book”

Overdue first impression post and it’s about time this show came out. We have a another mystery light-novel adapation here with GAINAX heading the animation. Yeah, GAINAX. When I look at GAINAX’s track record, it makes me think that GAINAX usually doesn’t take on such material such as this. Anyway, with that said here are my first impressions on the show. Kami-sama Dolls 02 – God’s Intensive Training

Dat Kyouhei lookin' real grim.

Yeah, screw it. I’m not blogging two mystery shows, so Dantalian no Shoka is dropped for coverage. I might do a first impressions post on it, though. We’ll see. I also love how I said I’m only gonna cover two shows this season, yet I still end up covering four. Oh well, at least I’m watching a lot less shows. Outside the four I’m covering, I’m only watching Dantalian no Shoka and kinda Mawaru Penguindrum. In any case, enough rambling about irrelevant things, I have to say that this episode was quite a good one. I’m also making this post rather short, because it’s late and I need to catch up on Steins;Gate. Read the rest of this entry

What I’m Watching This Summer 2011

I’m not gonna long this out, because I’m bored, I’m tired and uuugghhhh… I’m going to post the shows that I’ll be watching and the shows that I’ll TRY to blog. Emphasis on the word “TRY”. (As if the word “TRY” wasn’t emphasized enough.) First I’ll start with the shows that I’ll be blogging. I’ve put a lot of thought into this and since I usually blog 4 shows a season, I think I might lighten the load a little and blog just two or three.

Sacred Seven

I watched the PVs sometime ago, and the character designs remind me a lot of Code Geass. Anyway, Sunrise has an original show going on here, and I like writing about original shows, as much as I do watching them. The setup is pretty standard. Main protagonist meets mysterious transfer student. From what I’ve read, it’s a semi-mecha-school-action show. Similar to the recent Star Driver, though the plot formula is a lot different. Nobuhiko Okamoto, Iori Nomizu and Katsuyuki Konishi (the latter who I’ve been hearing a lot from since I’m in the middle of watching the Tales of Symphonia OVA) are notable seiyuus starring in this show. I’m looking forward to what it has to offer.

Dantalian no Shoka

I love myself a good mystery show, whether it’s anime or movies or TV shows. I may have stalled GOSICK right now, but I’m going to be catching up with it, along with this show called Dantalian no Shoka which is dark mystery anime that follows Huey and Dalian through a series of investigation on graphic murders and the like. GAINAX is also heading this adaptation from Gakuto’s light novel, which is rather interesting. Daisuke Ono will be voicing the male lead of the show, Huey while Miyuki Sawashiro is voicing the female lead, Dalian.

Kamisama no Memo-chou

Similar to my last choice, this show also involves mysteries. Similar setup: Boy meets shut-in girl who’s really intelligent and they solve crimes together. However, the types of crimes they deal with are more modern…more urban. A lot of underground crime going on. Reminds me of another show, but I can’t remember. But yeah, I’m going to be following this show.
