Puella Magi Madoka Magica Finale [END]

LATE POST IS LATE

I’m quite speechless at the ending to be honest. I have mixed feelings about the ending. Part of me says that it was amazing ending to the series, and part of me says that the ending could have gone another route. But hey, Puella Magi Madoka Magica turned out to be one of the best anime series in recent memory. Read the rest of this entry

Puella Magi Madoka Magica 10 – I Can’t Depend On Anyone Anymore

I Can't Depend On Anyone Anymore.

「もう誰にも頼らない」 (Mou Darenimo Tayoranai)
“I can’t depend on anyone anymore”

Oh my god, this episode was pretty insightful. We actually get to see Madoka as a Puella Magi. Something EVERYONE has been waiting to see. But it isn’t in the way people expected it would be. People may think of this episode as a flashback episode, but I like to think of it as a prologue to the show. A couple of theories were proven to be correct as well. One is the Time Travelling Theory. Kyubey had already figured out that Homura wasn’t from this timeline, but that’s all we gathered. This episode tells us that she is indeed a time traveller. The other is the Global Reset Theory. The world keeps being reset back to the day Homura first met Madoka, at her will.

Most of this post is a summary of the different timelines Homura goes through. To see a more simpler chart of the timelines, instead of reading through the whole thing, then CLICK HERE. Read the rest of this entry

Puella Magi Madoka Magica 09 – I Won’t Allow That

I Can't Allow That

「そんなの、あたしが許さない」 (Sonna No, Atashi ga Yurusanai)
“I won’t allow that”

Given how powerful last week’s episode was, it’d be kind of difficult to follow it up. Whilst this episode was a bit weaker than last week, it did tie up a few loose ends, especially on the origin of Puella Magi side.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica 08 – I’m Such A Fool

PROBLEM? trollface.jpg

「あたしって、ほんとバカ」 (Atashitte, Honto Baka)
“I’ve been such a fool”

Yeah, it’s THAT episode. The one everyone’s been talking about. I know grown men who cried at this episode. Like, seriously. As someone who shed tears at episodes 10 and 11 of Soul Eater, I can say that I am not one of those people. Though I can’t deny that this episode was one big shock. Also, a bit of SPECULAH have was confirmed in this episode, but we’ll get onto that in a bit. There’s one thing I should mention before I start the post. MyssaRei had tweeted a link to a flash game where you can beat the crap out of Kyubey. My highest score is 143 HITS so far. The link to the game is HERE.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica 06 – This Just Isn’t Right

This Just Isn't Right

「こんなの絶対おかしいよ」 (Konna no Zettai Okashii yo)
“This just isn’t right”

So we’re at that stage where we’re halfway through the one-cour shows. Thought Mami’s death was serious business? Pfft, that’s old news. This is where everything is at. Even though this episode was quite intense, I’m trying to keep posts concise so I’m only going to touch up on a few points made in this episode.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica 05 – Absolutely No Regrets

Absolutely No Regrets

LATE POSTS ARE LATE. The Last Story came in today so I was like…playing that ALL DAY yesterday, otherwise this post would’ve been up the same time as the Yumekui Merry post. So I figured, this episode was all about Sayaka, whether or not she regretted her choice in becoming a Puella Magi and how she’s fare against Shana–ERR, I mean Kyoko.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica 04 – Magic and Miracles Really Exist

Today was general feel like shit day.

「奇跡も、魔法も、あるんだよ」 (Kisekimo, Mahoumo, Arundayo)
“Miracles and Magic Really Exist”

I’ll be honest, this episode was rather…predictable. Not all of it, but some of it. Mami is really dead though, as Akemi explained in this episode, saying that a dead Magi’s body cannot return from the “other world”, so to speak. So all thoughts of Madoka wishing for her revival has fallen out of the window. Seriously, this is why I like this show. IT’S SERIOUS BUSINESS.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica 03 – I’m Not Afraid Anymore

I'm no longer afraid.

「もう何も恐くない」 (Mou Nanimo Kowakunai)
“I’m Not Afraid Anymore”

This episode made me sad. Like, I said on Twitter a few days ago, I feel like SHAFT pulled a GAINAX on me. This isn’t going to be a long post since I have a ton of college work to get on with, so I’m just gonna note down the highlights.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica 02 – That’d Make Me Happy

That'd Make Me Happy

「それはとっても嬉しいなって」 (Sore wa Tottemo Ureshii Natte)
“That Would Make Me Really Happy”

NOW I know why I love this show. Mami Tomoe is officially awesome. I’m glad I decided to give this show a watch because there’s some pretty good stuff going on with this show. Also, over the past week I’ve grown to fall in love with the show’s OP. Heck, even today I learned the chorus to the song on piano! I think I’m becoming a fan of ClariS. In any case, this week’s episode served as an explanation to the situation, who Mami is, what Kyube is, who Akemi is, what witches are, basically everything.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica 01 – As If I Met Her In My Dreams…

Meet Madoka.

「夢の中で会った、ような。。。」 (Yume no Naka de Atta, Youne…)
“As if I met her in my dreams…”

SURPRISE! I replaced StarrySky with this show. So a couple of things before we get into this. This show is an original show made by SHAFT, meaning there’s no canon material for it to follow. I believe this show has two names. “Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica” and “Puella Magi Madoka Magica”. I don’t know what the deal with that is, or if they both mean the same thing. In any case, this is a magical girl anime. I will tell you NOW, that I haven’t watched a magical girl anime properly since the days of Sailor Moon. So I’m stepping into quite an unfamiliar territory. Now, I will also tell you NOW that my main reason for checking this show out was because of the voice talent in the show. Particularly the fact that the young and fresh Aoi Yuuki was going to be playing Madoka, the main character. I particularly enjoyed her role as Jubei Yagyuu (both personas) in the recent Hyakkaryouran: Samurai Girls show. Not to mention that the likes of Emiri Katou and Eri Kitamura were also voicing in this. So, yeah. The fact that I’m blogging this now means that this must’ve left a good impression on me, no?
