Sacred Seven 10 – The Memories of Aoi

The much needed flashback episode on the Aiba family.

「アオイの記憶」 (Aoi no Kioku)
“Memories of Aoi”

I’m surprised with myself. I actually liked this episode, and it feels like the show is just about ready to end itself with a somewhat satisfactory ending. Or maybe it could blow us all away with a really good one! Thought, with the way this series has been going, I doubt it. And oh my, my hands are freezing I can’t type properly. Mayo Chiki! 09 – A Quick Trip

Yep, this was a maid episode.

「しばらく旅に出ます」 (Shibaraku Tabini Demasu)
“A Quick Trip”

Regrettably, Mayo Chiki! is starting to lose its heat for me. The fact that I literally skimmed through the last episode is a testament to that. However, for some reason, I kept at this episode. And I don’t even think it was because of the abundance of maids this week. Read the rest of this entry

Mayo Chiki! 05 – Go Out With Me

Subaru Gut Punch was GLORIOUS.

「アタシと付き合いなさい」 (Atashi to Sukiainasai)
“Go Out With Me”

Man, these London Riots have been messing up my anime scehdule. Not that I’ve been out rioting/looting, but I’m getting distracted and keep monitoring what’s going on. The rioters hit my side of town today, so I had to stay on point the entire day, really. ANYWAY, enough about the London Riots. I have an anime to talk about. Read the rest of this entry

Mayo Chiki! 04 – Stop Staring At Me

Maid vs Butler!

「あんまりジロジロみるな・・・」 (Amari Jirojiro Miru na…)
“Stop Staring So Much…”

Lately, the only times I have been able to watch anime is after midnight due to the situation I’m in right now. I can only really use my younger brother’s laptop around this time since he’s on it during the day. Because of this, I find my opinions of an episode negatively affected sometimes. So initially, I thought this episode was lacking. Read the rest of this entry

Mayo Chiki 03 – On The Bed, Naturally

Subaru means business.

「もちろん、ベッドの上で」 (Mochiron, Beddo no Ue de)
“On The Bed, Naturally”

This episode was an slightly interesting one. Mayo Chiki is prone to being a generic romantic comedy in many different ways, but there are still a few things that keep it interesting. For instance, today we had what seemed to be the obligatory beach episode, but to me it didn’t feel like a beach episode. Mainly because there wasn’t much in the way of fanservice. No one had oversized boobs or anything to flaunt about, but rather it dealt with a bit of backstory on Subaru’s part. Read the rest of this entry

Kamisama Dolls 03 – The Attacker Is…

I swear, this is probably just about the most interesting screencap I took to use as an opening image.

「攻め来たるは・・・」 (Semekitaru wa…)
“The Attacker Is…”

I was watching this episode with my best friend, and I spent most of the episode figuring out the purpose of this episode was, what it was trying to achieve and what I was supposed to get out of it. I mean, when the entire first half of the episode is filled with shenagnigans involving cake and other semi-unrelated mumbo-jumbo, you begin to wonder what on earth is going on here. Kami-sama Dolls 02 – God’s Intensive Training

Dat Kyouhei lookin' real grim.

Yeah, screw it. I’m not blogging two mystery shows, so Dantalian no Shoka is dropped for coverage. I might do a first impressions post on it, though. We’ll see. I also love how I said I’m only gonna cover two shows this season, yet I still end up covering four. Oh well, at least I’m watching a lot less shows. Outside the four I’m covering, I’m only watching Dantalian no Shoka and kinda Mawaru Penguindrum. In any case, enough rambling about irrelevant things, I have to say that this episode was quite a good one. I’m also making this post rather short, because it’s late and I need to catch up on Steins;Gate. Read the rest of this entry

Deadman Wonderland: Rats in a Cage

“Despite all my rage, I’m still just a rat in a cage.” – Smashing Pumpkins

This pretty much sums up what I got out of the Spring 2011 anime, Deadman Wonderland. Every episode was set up to make the viewer look upon every worthwhile character and see just how much despair and hopelessness they could possibly experience. Even I had at least one moment of physical cringing, confirming that this anime was doing something right. Of course, when needed, there would be a 5-7 minute flashback justifying why said character was so, for lack of a better descriptor, fucked up. Regardless of justification, the characters (and even the plot itself) continue to run around like rats in a cage, never really going anywhere but down.

Sacred Seven 01 – Awakening of the Stone

Oh hey there, Megaman ZX.

「イシの目覚め」 (Ishi no Mezame)
“Awakening of the Stone”

I have a bunch of tweets that could sum up my thoughts of this episode, so I’m just gonna combine them all and create this post. What we have here is a original anime by Sunrise. On the surface it looks like a high school mecha shounen. A lot of people have been comparing this to Star Driver which isn’t fair. To me, Star Driver wasn’t even shounen. In any case, let’s get this post underway. Read the rest of this entry

KamiMemo 01 – Two, Three Things You Should Know About Her

It's the only NEET thing to do.

It's the only NEET thing to do.

“Two, Three Things You Should Know About Her”

Right, so I just got around to watching Kami-sama no Memo-chou (God’s Memo Pad) a while ago. It was actually a pre-air that aired on AT-X instead of being streamed online like the pre-air of Blood-C was. The actual air date of the first episode will be this Saturday 8th. The episode was an hour long, which was quite interesting. It’s leading me to believe that all the episodes might be that long. Half of me doesn’t want that, and the other half of me doesn’t really mind. I thoroughly enjoyed this first episode. I’ll be referring to the show as KamiMemo from now on. Read the rest of this entry
