God Only Knows 03 – I’ve Got Nothing

I've seriously got nothing.

The World God Only Knows is too long, so I’m just calling it God Only Knows. The screencap above seems to agree with me. So, in short this anime is about a high-school student called Keima who is a self-proclaimed dating-sim god. He is always seen with his PFP playing some sort of dating-simulator. When he receives a challenge about capturing girls (i.e. getting the girl to fall in love with the player in the dating-sim), he accepts and then a demon girl named Elsea appears outta nowhere and proposes a task in which he cannot back out of, otherwise they both die. He must free the loose evil spirits that have taken residence inside girls’ hearts. The only way to drive the spirits out is to get the girl to fall in love with him. So basically, he must apply what he has learned in his dating-sim games to work in real life. And they say video games are pointless.

The episode was pretty straight forward and so far the series has kept true to the manga. Keima must capture his second target which is Mio Aoyama. A seemingly wealthy girl on the outside, but the truth is:

She's actually really poor.

Her butler quits, and Keima and Elsea had eavesdropped on the entire conversation. Mio catches Keima and tells him to GTFO. Elsea thinks it’ll be almost impossible to capture Mio, but Keima says that because they both share a common secret (being that she is poor) he can use that to his advantage.

Can be interpreted in so many ways.

So anyway, after many gruelling days of conquest, Keima invites her to a high-class party.

Nice dress.

"Where?"

"Aw, fuck." I had no idea Japan had houses such as this.

You cannot deny Elsea's cuteness.

So after an evening with Mio, she teaches Keima how to dance, and then he makes his move. But then

MIO PAWNCH. This particular shot reminds me of Scott Pilgrim vs The World.

But despite this, he gets the girl in the end.

Now for the best part of the show:

"HEAVE"

"HOOOOO!"

"NNNNGGGGHHHH!!!!"

OMG SHE'S SO FRICKIN' CUTE!

Overall, I didn’t really find this episode entertaining. I found episode 2 to be much better. Still can’t wait to see who Keima’s gotta capture next.
